In his years of practice as a personal trainer and chiropractor, The Common Sense CoachTM has realized the benefits of alignment in the body. Given the natural state of ease, efficiency and functionality afforded by alignment of a physical system, it is no stretch of the imagination that alignment would be important for other systems as well.
Aligning one’s actions with one’s intentions is the first critical ‘alignment’ principle used by The Common Sense CoachTM. Intentions are those concepts and ideas that create the vision of where you want to go, and what you want to do. If they are consistent with ‘who you really are’, then by following them, you get a sense that you are doing the right thing. The opposite is true if you follow an intention that goes against your natural sense of being. And, in either scenario, your body serves as an accurate reflection of how true you are being to who you are.
The Common Sense CoachTM encourages people to check in with their feelings, instead of just thinking the answers to their questions. Feelings resonate within the body, whereas thoughts are concepts isolated to the mind. Since the brain is creative, and has a tendency to fill in the gaps with fabricated details, you cannot truly trust what you think about, or think you remember. However, the body is just a register, recording and responding to the facts -- it never lies. When it is uncomfortable, you are uncomfortable. Simple as that.
